Jumia targets growth of Nigeria’s tech startups
Jumia, one of Nigeria’s largest e-commerce platforms has launched an entrepreneurship competition targeting start-ups and new businesses who focused on developing a unique digital application, smart solution or much needed service that will help to solve tangible consumer or business problems Nigeria.
The Jumia ‘Super Startup Campaign’ competition will create an opportunity for young entrepreneurs to win N1million to invest in and grow their business.
In a statement made available to BusinessDay, Jumia said its Super Startup week which kicked off on Monday, 18 September will have live online tech talks from Shola Akinlade, CEO of Paystack who will be speaking on ‘Starting a business in Nigeria- The Story of Paystack’, Yemi Bademosi, founder of Microtraction who will be discussing ‘Getting Funding For Your Start-up’ and Maya Horgan-Famodu, founder of Ingressive who will be speaking on ‘The Nigerian Start-up Ecosystem’ on its website, Jumia.com.ng.
During the second week of the campaign, Sacha Poignonnec, Co-CEO of Jumia Group will be speaking about The Jumia Story: From Startup to Hypergrowth, on Monda. Bili Sule, VP of Growth Marketing, Jumia Nigeria will share insights on how business savvy Nigerians can make money by leveraging Jumia’s Entrepreneur Empowerment Program.
