Leogroup: promoting learning with ‘Leo Achiever’
In line with its avowed determination to promote literacy in the country, Leogroup, manufacturers of ball pens and plastic chairs, has introduced another ball pen called ‘Leo Achiever’.
The new product joins the long list of pens produced by the company such as Leosmart, Leofine, and Leo Ankara.
According to Rohit Daswani, managing director of Leogroup, the pen was introduced to ensure that Nigerians are not disappointed while writing. He assured the writing public that the company’s distribution partner, Far East Mercantile Limited, is here to give it the largest possible circulation, having been in the business for over twelve decades, producing popular products like Ovaltine, Tiger Blades, among others.
He erased the impression that Leosmart ball pens have been phased out, saying that what the company did was to spread its tentacles by partnering with FMCL.
Afolabi Fadairo, products promotion manager, Leosmart, added that the pen is designed to support the writing needs of Nigerians, emphasizing that people must insist on original Leosmart during purchase as there is a fake one imported from China.
‘’Leosmart began in 2006 with the aim of supporting the government both from the local, state and federal level in the delivery of qualitative education to the Nigerian youth,’’ Fadairo said.
He also appealed to the Lagos State government to recommend the use of the pen in all public schools, as this will sustain the support of the company in all of its education initiatives.
The launch attracted Olayinka Oladunjoye, Lagos State commissioner for education; Fatai Olukoga, special adviser to Governor Babatunde Fashola on education; Adesegun Raheem, Lagos State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers(NUT), among others.
Leogroup has supported many education programmes such as World Teachers’ Day, Children’s Day, among others. It has also distributed materials to public and private schools and organised inter-house sports sports.
