MRDC/YEN confab to proffer solutions to unemployment, capacity development

Proffering solutions to the over 24 percent unemployment rate among youths and effective entrepreneurship development platform for national development is among the issues young business owners and experience entrepreneurs operating in Nigeria will tackle in Lagos at the 2015 annual Young Entrepreneur Network (YEN) conference organised by Masterpiece Resource Development Centre (MRDC).

The conference theme, SWITCH, serves as a reference point to promote the campaign for change in mindset, product branding, business policies, operations, structure and innovation among young, aspiring and established entrepreneurs, hence, bringing about the needed business and national transformation.

Abiola Popoola, chairman, MRDC, while commenting on the importance of the conference scheduled for September 9 – 10, in Lagos, said it would bring together over 2000 young aspiring business owners and provide an avenue to share ideas with seasoned entrepreneurs and industry experts.

According to him, “Through this conference, we hope to raise an entrepreneurial community, with businesses that will become successful, sustainable and trans-generational,” thereby enhancing healthy synergy resulting into business growth, excellent mentoring programme, personal development and improved productivity.”

Uche Nwosu, president, YEN, said the conference would enable youths connect to the true source of inspiration, connect to real fundamentals, connect to sure principles that could take us to the ‘permanent site’ and take a higher dimension of thought towards contributing to economic development.
