Nigeria partners Germany in business investment summit
Euro First Choice Enterprises Limited, in collaboration with its German partner, is organising a first-of-its-kind business-to-business summit. The summit tagged ‘Nigeria meets Germany’ is a trade and investment summit. It is designed to provide a robust platform of opportunities for businesses from both countries to meet, share experience and establish a relationship that will be mutually beneficial to both countries.
The three-day summit that will hold between October 9 and 11, 2013, has the theme ‘Building Strategic Partnerships for Mutual Benefit,’ and is scheduled to hold in Berlin, Germany.
The event is expected to offer international companies a common forum to learn the diverse trade and investment opportunities in the Nigerian market of more than 160 million people. It will also address the challenges of doing business in the country and facilitate meetings between foreign companies and their Nigerian counterparts as well as with Nigerian officials.
The summit will be holding in collaboration with the German business community and the city of Berlin, the German capital city, and the Nigerian Embassy in Germany is playing an active role in hosting this event.
It comes with the endorsement and support of Abdu Usman Abubarkar, the Nigerian ambassador to Germany, and support from the German business community.
According to Kennedy Ikenna Enyia, director, strategy/planning, Euro First Choice, sectoral focus for the event is in line with the transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan, to achieve maximum impact in all sectors of the economy. There will also be special focus on sectors like agriculture, energy and power, oil and gas, education, manufacturing, marine and transport, banking and finance, solid minerals, tourism, construction, communication, youth development and empowerment, information technology, real estate and environment.
Also, Goodnews Ugorji, chairman, event organising committee, says the summit is expected to have in attendance professionals, policy makers and operators of key sectors of the economy from both countries, and will end with a gala night dedicated to the Nigerian fashion show, and will be used to showcase the rich fashion heritage unique to both countries.
