NNEW sharpens entrepreneurs’ skills in business plan writing

Most entrepreneurs need guidance in putting the great business ideas they have into writing, therefore, NECA Network of Entrepreneurial Women (NNEW) organises regular trainings to ensure this is done professionally.

“This women network established in 2005 under the aegis of the Nigeria Employers Consultative Association (NECA) is out to build generations of successful women entrepreneurs,” says Ann Adelaja, NNEW executive secretary. The network also includes men in its training programmes.

Explaining further, Adelaja says, “The next training scheduled to hold Tuesday December 10, this year at the NECA House is to ensure that those who need guidance to participate in competitions such as the federal government’s YouWin programme are able to do so. NNEW has trainers with International Labour Organisation (ILO) certification as members. These consultants have helped many to articulate their ideas and communicate their business ideas successfully. She said the training kicking off at 10a.m Tuesday is packaged to help men and women who take part to  fully understand what they have set out to do, how to prepare a winning business plan, do their costing appropriately, make their business ideas fly and and attract the interest of investors.

For interested persons who may have entered for previous edition of YOUWIN or any other competition and did not achieve success, Adelaja said, “They need guidance. NNEW has a pool of veteran facilitators who have assisted members who won grants in the previous editions of YOUWIN, they will be taking these new set of participants through the sessions.” On the YOUWIN competition, the online portal for stage one entry level closes Friday December 27, 2013. It is open to both men and women.

YouWiN – Youth Enterprise with Innovation in Nigeria – is an innovative business plan competition, by the federal government of Nigeria, aimed at job creation. It aims to encourage and support aspiring entrepreneurial youths in Nigeria to develop and execute business ideas. The first round of the competition was awarded in 2011 with 1200 successful businesses. Successful candidates can win between N1 million to N10 million as grants.
