Ooni of Ife throws weight behind youth entrepreneurship

Adeyeye Babatunde Enitan Ogunwusi, Ooni of Ife, has thrown his weight behind youth entrepreneurship in Nigeria and has agreed to serve as grand patron of Young Entrepreneurs of Nigeria (YEN), an association of Nigerian young entrepreneurs and umbrella body of youth entrepreneurs.

The event took place last Tuesday at Ooni’s palace in Ile-Ife, Osun State, where the national president Chris Kohol and his national executives installed him as the grand patron of the organisation.

In turn, Ogunwusi reiterated his unflinching support for the youths in Nigeria, noting that youths were pivotal in moving the train of development and positively turning around the economy of any nation.

The Ooni, who spoke to a delegation of YEN’s national executives led by the association’s president, stressed the need for Nigerian youths to unify their hearts for strength and power.

“Youths should be known for progressive and innovative ideas that will benefit the entire country, innovations that will take the country to greater heights. I will tell youths of this country that it is important to pioneer things. When you pioneer things, that’s when you can own those things,” he stated.

Chris Kohol, president of the association, lauded the efforts and support of Ooni of Ife for his continuous love for the Nigerian youths and for championing youth empowerment and emancipation across the country.

Young Entrepreneurs of Nigeria (YEN) is the umbrella body of Nigerian young entrepreneurs that seek to empower youth entrepreneurs with finance, capacity building, network, business tools and also champion the cause of young entrepreneurs at local, regional and national levels to curb unemployment amongst youths in Nigeria and enhance national productivity. The association is a membership based organisation with members scattered across Nigeria.
