Opportunity knocks for female entrepreneurs -WIMBIZ N3m seed investment competition

Nigeria’s distinguished pro-women NGO Women In Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ) is having a three million naira prize impact investment competition for women entrepreneurs between the ages of 21 and 30.

Applications for the business plan competition which coincides with the 13th WIMBIZ Annual Conference themed ‘Nigeria Rising: Accelerating Transformation’, closes 5th of September 2014.

N1,000,000 will be awarded to the top 3 businesses while the top 10 applicants will be granted scholarships to attend the Annual Conference. The winners will also be assigned mentors on the platform of the WIMBIZ mentoring program which boasts of entrepreneurial juggernauts like The Chair Centre CEO Ibukun Awosika.

Eligibility for this award include:

•You must be a citizen of Nigeria

•You must be a woman between the ages of 21-30

•Your business must be situated in Nigeria and should have a sustainability component for Nigeria

•The value of your request should not exceed N300,000

•The business must be in the start-up phase and should not be more than 12 months old

•The owner must demonstrate commitment and interest in the business

Application Process:

•Fill in the online application

•Create a 1-3 minute(s) video marketing your unique product and/or service, upload to YouTube and paste the link to your application

•Create your business plan with the accompanying financial statements and send to conference@wimbiz.org with your name and title of the award as the subject e.g Opeoluwa Uzoma Adamu Impact Investment Competition (The entire document, including financial projections should not exceed 7 pages).
