SBN platform deepens local, global business synergy among professionals
In a renew drive to deepen the synergy between local and global business entrepreneurs and professionals, Sterling Business Network (SBN) recently launched its second branch in Nigeria.
Raymond McMillan, CEO/ founder, Sterling Business Network International, while speaking at the launch in Lagos, said the aim of the organisation was connecting people from all industries and professions with the objective of growing and enhancing their businesses locally and internationally.
McMillan observed that Sterling Business Network was about the coming together of professional individuals from different areas of specialisation, for the purpose of helping one another and contributing to the economic growth of the nation.
According to him, “SBN connects individuals, business owners, investors and corporations from all sectors/industries with the sole aim of generating more business and revenues globally”.
“It is about bringing different individuals together and sharing referrals. It works by hosting only one member from a particular profession, so that there is no rivalry in each branch”.
Christian Junior Nwaigwe, SBN group managing director and head of Communications, emphasised that SBN provides the platform for a core groups of professionals to collaborate; working in synergy to generate qualified business referrals and income for members of each branch irrespective of their geographical location.
SBN instills entrepreneurship in people while they are still in school; teach the practical skills, how to start a business from ideas to actually running a successful business and we teach them about how to run at a low cost,” said Nwaigwe
Mohammed Salisu Bamba, a member of Ghanaian parliament, and guest speaker at the event emphasised the role that organisations like SBN have to play in eradicating unemployment across West Africa.
He stressed that educating and empowering young people with practical business development and entrepreneurial skills were fundamental steps that must be taken to create sustainable growth in the economy.
“As the organisation is international, members from Nigeria will be able to connect, build relationships and do business with other members from the UK, USA, Central America and the Caribbean. Nigeria is the first African country to have an SBN Branch and there are plans to further penetrate the African continent with branches scheduled to be launched in Ghana, South Africa, Uganda and Ethiopia in the coming months,” he added .
