SMEs, start-ups set to gain from NABG’s Agrikexpo
As part of events heralding the 2015 edition of the AGRIKEXPO, coming up between November 5 and 7, in Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos, the Nigerian Agribusiness Group (NABG) plans a conference of stakeholders in support of agriculture in Nigeria.
Subjects to be discussed will focus mostly on the development of the cold chain as a necessary tool for the improvement of the agricultural value chain via proper post-harvest produce management. The expo is expected to help small scale players enhance the values of their produce.
According to Emmanuel Ijewere, coordinator, NABG, AGRIKEXPO has become a major milestone for the development of agriculture in Nigeria and, in the new dispensation, provides a world-class opportunity for networking among stakeholders, considering the need for new technology and foreign direct investments.
Speaking further, Ijewere said once issues relating to the application of the requisite technology in agricultural practices are addressed, a lot would be achieved and the objective of solving food security will be enhanced.
Michael Arion, ambassador of the EU Delegation to Nigeria and ECOWAS, said “the synergy between EUBF and AGRIKEXPO/FOODBEXT exhibition is for mutual bilateral benefits among agribusiness people from EU and Nigeria, respectively.”
Several world-class companies and dignitaries are expected at the event, including direct equipment and input manufacturers. Also coming are processed and packaged foods organizations looking for new partners.
