Unveiling LCCI 2013 International Trade Fair
Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), the oldest trade chamber in Nigeria and second oldest in Africa, has concluded plans for this year’s international trade fair.
The event tagged ‘Lagos International Trade Fair 2013’ will begin on November 1, and end on November 10. The Fair will take place at the Main Arena of Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, with a total exhibition space of over 50,000m2, BusinessDay has learnt.
According to Babatunde Paul Ruwase, vice president, Trade Promotion Board, LCCI, a total of 1000 exhibitors (companies) have indicated interest to participate. Eight hundred of such exhibitors are local companies while 200 are foreign exhibitor companies from countries like Brazil, China, Ghana, United Kingdom, European Union countries, and others.
The Fair will be declared open by President Goodluck Jonathan. Babatunde Fashola, Lagos State governor; minister for trade and investment, Olusegun Aganga; president of Nigerian
Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, and the diplomatic corps are expected at the Fair.
Over 500,000 visitors from within and outside the country are expected, according to information from LCCI website.
