More Academy, FG to hold Mortgage & Real Estate stakeholders luncheon
As part of its sensitization moves towards boosting the Mortgage and Real Estate business in Nigeria, Mortgage and Real Estate Academy (MOREACADEMY) in partnership with Center for Management Development (CMD), a parastatal of the federal government has concluded plans to hold Mortgage Industry Stakeholders Luncheon in September 2017.
Chairman of the institution and Managing Director of Western Atlantic Corporations, Ade Akinfolurin, made the announcement in Lagos this week. According to him, the luncheon is meant to coincide with the historical debuting of MOREACADEMY, an establishment of the Federal government in public-private-partnership with Western Atlantic Corporation Limited.
“The upcoming Luncheon,” he stated, “will flag-off the entire training programme of the Academy, and also secure the interest of the participating public in the development of the nation’s Mortgage and Real Estate industry.
“It is also meant to further instil public confidence in President Muhammadu Buhari-led Administration that through MOREACADEMY, a new horizon in delivery of the much needed human capacity in the Mortgage and Real Estate industry could be achieved.
“The Luncheon is to buttress the importance of MOREACADEMY and their trainings for the nation’s economic interest, taking into consideration the Federal Government’s mandate to the various stakeholders in the discharge of their responsibilities. Most importantly, it is a demonstration of the fact that Government is desirous of genuine partnership with the private sector to develop the economy.”
Although the proposed training programme ought to have debuted since 2016, according to Akinfolurin, its take-off was postponed till September 2017 to enable the Federal Government to perfect some other areas of the program in order to have a comprehensive coverage addressing all issues in the Mortgage and Real Estate Industry.
He said: “It was also to ensure that the Training facilities of CMD are enhanced for these high end training opportunities”. The institution’s Chairman assures participants of an exciting and top quality training sessions.
“MOREACADEMY,” he pointed out, “will provide first class trainings and workshops that are structured for the Nigeria economy; hence relevance is very key here.”
Dignitaries expected at the luncheon include the Lagos State Governor, Akinwumi Ambode, who will declare the event open; Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola; Minister for Budget and National Planning, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun as well as His Royal Majesty, Adeyeye Eniitan Ojaja 11, the Ooni of Ife.
The training programme is expected to draw participants from the Banks, Primary Mortgage Institutions (PMI) ; Real Estate Developers, Real Estate Practitioners, State Governments, Federal Housing Authorities and Housing Corporations in Nigeria.
