Alexandria Quarter: Where aesthetics complements quality living
Alexandria Quarter is a splendid piece of architecture to behold; a cynosure of sorts and, as BusinessDay visit to the estate at the weekend reveals, from conception to finishing, aesthetics and quality living defined every moment of construction of this 33-housing unit neighbourhood located within the Lagos State Skyview Residential Scheme in Sangotedo, Lekki Peninsula.
The upscale neighbourhood nestled at Kayode Abayomi Street, about three minutes drive from Lagos Business School, sitting on 9,000 square metres of land and projected to cost N700-800 million on completion, boasts top of the range infrastructure and facilities in line with the vision of its promoters.
“When we came up with the concept of a high-brow neighbourhood complemented with first class infrastructure and facilities that make for quality living, we also considered those things that should be provided to make this place a livable environment”, Adetokunbo Ajayi told journalists at the estate.
Ajayi, the CEO of Propertygate Development and Investment Plc—developers of the estate—explained that the estate’s 33 housing units comprise six units of four-bedroom semi-detached houses; 10 units of four-bedroom terrace houses; 16 units of four-bedroom apartments, and two units of one-room mini-apartments, all rooms ensuite,
According to him, “we could have optimized the land further by building more units, but we were mindful of air-flow and convenience so that we wouldn’t have an environment that is chocked and this, we hope, will bring more value to the prospective residents”.
The entrance into the estate ushers one into a gate-house with CCTV cameras, and thereafter to a beautifully landscaped environment with flowers, grasses and shrubs; well paved roads with interlocking stones, walkways and drains, giving an ambience of luxury and quality living in a cozy residence.
“For the facilities”, Ajayi continued, “we are connected directly to the 33 KVA line on the Lekki-Epe Expressway. The advantage of this is that we are not putting pressure on the existing power infrastructure in this neighbourhood. Besides the power from the mains, we have a central back up which is a combination of three generators—80KVA, 100KVA and 150KVA to serve the entire estate. This reduces both cost and air pollution in the environment; again, we want to ensure that residents are on 24-hour power supply daily”.
Other facilities in the estate include water borehole that is 220 metres deep; water treatment plant and a 30,000-litre water reservoir; grocery store, gym for relaxation, children’s playground; dedicated spaces for indoor games like snookers, scrabbles, table tennis etc.
For aesthetics and quality, the finishing of the houses are best in class with porcelain and ceramic floor and wall tiles, spacious kitchens with cabinets; baths and showers in the bathrooms; spacious and airy living and bedrooms, balconies and family lounges etc.
For those wishing to buy any of the units, Olayiwola Asere, the company’s Development and Trading Manager, informed that each unit of the semi-detached houses sells for N37.5 million; terrace houses—N36.5 million; apartments—N31 million and mini-apartments—N13 million, all inclusive of VAT.
He pointed out that the company allows extended payment, assuring that a buyer could take possession after making up to 50 percent commitment on the value of the house while the balance is spread over 12-24 months with small graduated interest rate.
