Beaufort Properties excites Accra market with $10m lifestyle facility

Beaufort Properties, a joint venture between Ernest Hanson and Metro Investments, South African property developers, says it is set to change Accra’s North Ridge skyline and luxurious lifestyle with its new and innovative residential development called Beaufort Ridge.

Ernest Hanson, managing director, Beaufort Properties, says the company’s goal is to provide exceptional quality homes, in prime locations at good value for the Ghanaian property market.

“Our target is to develop up market residential apartment blocks that provide luxury, quality living experiences with world class amenities in central Accra at the lowest price point in this market segment,” he said.

According to him, the new six-floor elegance stands in the serene neighbourhood of North Ridge, which is sandwiched between Accra’s main parallel roads, adding that “the area is flanked by the Kanda Highway on the West and Independence Venue/Liberation Avenue on the East.

Beaufort Ridge is only a 10-minute drive to Oxford Street in Osu (Accra’s most vibrant retail centre) home of Koala Supermarket, the site is also 10 minutes drive from the Central Business District and the government offices, and a 15-minute drive to the airport.

The facility offers an attractive living proposition at good value to rental customers, such as young Ghanaian professionals and expatriate staff of multinationals, while generating an excellent return for an investor.

The seven-storey building on delivery will include 61 units of tastefully finished one, two and three bedroom units and two spacious penthouses.

To Hanson, “a unit of two bedrooms flat currently sells for $249,450, but will be sold for around $263,450 after construction; this is moderate as an average two-bedroom apartment in Central Accra costs $350,000.

“A unit of a three bedroom flat currently sells for $355,450, but will sell for $380,450 after the facility is constructed as rental yields is around 12 percent at their prices.”

Facilities available at the Ridge include a private swimming pool, playground area, elevator, backup generator, collective antenna and satellite dish, lightning protection, gym, club house, basement parking, and adequate security.

The project is currently at the foundation stage with a piling foundation system being implemented, he said, on the progress of the project.

“It is an 18-month project and we will deliver it by December 2014,” he said.

Beaufort Ridge has been designed by internationally renowned architectural practice, Paragon, and will provide its residents with luxury living space at affordable prices on delivery, according to him.
