CCP sees opportunities for professionals in built environment

The built environment in Nigeria has, in the past three to four years, witnessed considerable growth, giving rise to landmark developments, iconic buildings and new land masses such as Eko Atlantic City, Orange Island, Banana Island and other new areas that are opening up.

For Consultants Collaborative Partnership, a multi-disciplinary and limited liability partnership populated by architects and engineers, these developments present fabulous opportunities for professionals and professional firms in the built environment.

Femi Williams, the managing partner of the company who made this observation at a press conference he addressed along with Tayo Babalakin and other partners preparatory to their 25th anniversary celebration, added that he was optimistic of a bright future for the architecture profession and Nigeria.

“As many new areas are opening up and many old areas becoming more densely populated or there are changes in the land use of areas, there is ample opportunity of work being available for a thriving professional firm”, he said.

Continuing, he said, “with an optimistic viewpoint, there is certainly a bright future ahead for the architecture profession and Nigeria and we at CCP continue to manage our resources and people so that we are best positioned to take advantage of opportunities”.

CCP which came into being in 2011 following the merger of Building Consultants Limited (BCL) and Structural Design Consultants (SDC) both of which were daughter companies of Klif Consultants—an architectural and project management firm established in 1990 by Williams and Babalakin.

With a vision to become an internationally acclaimed multi-disciplinary consulting firm in the built industry and also committed to providing creative and responsive solutions for the built industry to the delight of stakeholders, CCP has in the past 25 years of operation left footprints in several developments cutting across residential, commercial and other segments of real estate.

“CCP in the past 24 years has executed over 600 projects in the commercial, industrial, hospitality and educational sectors and numerous residential projects in various parts of  Nigeria and other countries such as Ghana and Rwanda”, Williams disclosed.

Within this period too, the company has grown from just two partners at inception to six partners,  three associate partners,  eight heads of department and over 80 staff, and according to Williams, the company has a fully operational office in Abuja, the head office in Lagos while their office in Kigali, Rwanda, would be opened in the first quarter of 2015.

Babalakin explained that the anniversary celebration was aimed, among other things, to acknowledge the sustainability of the company in a very challenging society; promote and encourage young professionals to establish partnerships, and also to fulfill part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) by giving back to society.

According to him, apart from the press conference during which the anniversary logo was unveiled, other activities lined up for the celebration included charity walk that would culminate in a donation to an ophanage, and a gala nite during which devoted and dedicated staff would be rewarded.
