Construction upbeat as $10m lifestyle Beaufort Ridge nears delivery

Beaufort Properties, developers and promoters of Beaufort Ridge, says construction activities at the estate have been stepped up as they inch closer to the delivery of the N10 billion lifestyle development expected to  change Accra’s North Ridge skyline with eco-friendly homes.

Beaufort Ridge  is designed a six-floor edifice expected to deliver 61 units of luxury one, two and three bedroom apartments all embedded in a single eye-popping structure.

Ernest Hanson, managing director, Beaufort Properties, hints that the Ridge which sits on  0.7 acres of land has reached an advanced stage with only three floors yet to be completed.

“Our main contractor, Micheletti is one of the leading contractors in west Africa and having recently delivered a four-storey office complex for the International Finance Corporation in Accra, the firm remains on course to deliver the Ridge by the end of 2014”, Hanson told BusinessDay.

Tucked away in the serene neighbourhood of North Ridge, Beaufort Ridge which is sandwiched between Accra’s main parallel roads, is flanked by the Kanda Highway on the West and Independence Venue/Liberation Avenue on the East. It is only a 10-minute drive from Oxford Street, Osu (Accra’s most vibrant retail centre) home of Koala Supermarket, 10 minutes drive away from the Central Business District and a 15-minute drive to the airport.

“Our aim is to deliver an up market residential apartment block that provides luxury, quality living experience with world class amenities in central Accra at the lowest price point in this market segment,” Hanson said.

The Ridge which is scheduled for handover in the first quarter of 2015 will, on delivery, offer not only attractive living proposition at good value to rental customers, but also generate an excellent return to its owners.

Hanson stressed further that as a specialised real estate development and management firm focused on Ghana’s property market, Beaufort Ridge will be the choice address for young professionals and expatriate staff of multinationals in the North Ridge region of Accra as a result of its innovative finishing which would appeal to “Green home buyers”.

Some of the amenities expected at the ridge on delivery include a private swimming pool, playground area, elevator, backup generator, collective antenna and satellite dish, lightning protector, gym, club house, and adequate security.

The six-storey building, including the pent house, comprises 61 units of tastefully finished one, two and three bedroom units and two spacious penthouses including a basement parking to ensure optimum space utilisation.

“A unit of two bedroom flat currently sells for $249,450, but will be sold for around $268,000 after construction; this is moderate as an average two-bedroom apartment in Central Accra costs $350,000”, Hanson stated.

Meanwhile, a unit of a three bedroom flat currently sells for $355,450, but will sell for $380,450 after the facility is constructed.
