Developer woos buyers with N.5m kitchen fittings at Lekki Pearl Estate

Alpha Mead Development Company (AMDC) developer of Lekki Pearl Estate is set to reward its new subscribers with kitchen fittings of up to N500, 000 for any of its four house-types purchased this season.
Lekki Pearl Estate, a 112-unit quality and affordable housing development designed for middle-income Nigerians, is aimed to encourage this class of Nigerians to make home ownership part of their plan for 2015.
Damola Akindolire, AMDC’s General Manager, explained to BusinessDay that the planned reward for subscribers would be extended to visitors coming to the Open House session of the estate billed to hold on 30th of this month at Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The Open House, according to him, is a quarterly platform organized by AMDC where all stakeholders on the project including contractors, bankers, engineers, existing and prospective subscribers met for an update on the development.
“We have decided to add some spice to home buying this year. We are offering new subscribers who sign up at the Open House or on any of our other platforms before December 30, N500, 000 worth of kitchen fittings from top brands like Scavolini and Miele. We have also designed the scheme to accommodate people who may want the N500, 000 as discount on the cost of any of the house types of their choice”, Akindolire said.
Continuing, he said, “for us at AMDC, this is one of the ways we want to encourage people, especially young, middle-income Nigerians to put home ownership on their to-do list for 2015. There is a large population in the middle class seeking to own their first home. They earn good income, but not enough to buy homes cash-down and they also have difficulty obtaining mortgages. So, we believe that by helping them start lower on the ladder, purchasing smaller and lower cost homes, they can steadily build equity and move up into larger homes, as is done in many other societies. This is the solution Lekki Pearl Estate is bringing to the market.”
He reaffirmed his company’s commitment to its 24 months plan of delivering the first set of houses to the owners by December 2015, saying “those subscribers who started with us will be celebrating the next new year in their homes at Lekki Pearl”.
Speaking on the Open House event, Akindolire said it is a platform where the company engages its customers, take feedback from them and give them updates on the promised timelines on the development of the estate.
“One of the core values of our parent company, Alpha Mead Facilities and Management Services Limited, AMFacilities, is superior customer service; so at AMDC, it is our tradition to listen and satisfy our customers; this open house helps us to do that effectively. Beyond this, we are already seeing a twist where our subscribers are beginning to engage one another. Our customers are already bonding even before moving in; they are already neighbours. So we use this meeting to further strengthen that bond”, he enthused.
