Emel, Stanley out with security solutions for built environment, businesses

In response to the growth in the built environment sector coupled with the rising need for security solutions for the protection of homes and businesses, the Emel Group in partnership with Stanley Security have entered the Nigerian market with top of the range products.

These products comprising an extensive portfolio of architectural hardware for commercial and residential solutions include glass accessories, electronic locks and automatic doors among others.

Emel Group, a leading business conglomerate that has been operating in Nigeria since 1966 will, through its Emel Building Materials subsidiary, distribute and market these products while Stanley, a new entrant into Nigerian Market, will provide the products and the technical know-how.

Close industry watchers say the building and construction industry in Nigeria is in for better times by reason of this partnership, explaining that Stanley Security is one of the world’s most renowned providers of integrated security solutions for homes and businesses.

“We in Emel Group understand that the next 10 years in Nigeria is all about construction and we want to play a role in this sector; we know about the huge home deficit in this country. We are therefore, partnering with this company which has the right people to supply the right product”, Naresh Asnani, CEO, Emel Group explained to BusinessDay in Lagos recently.

Asnani who spoke in an interview on the sideline of the just concluded Lagos Architects Forum organized by the Lagos State chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA), added that Stanley knew and had the right product quality range that were durable and cost-effective.

Unveiling the company’s products which included the provision of ancillary support and training for practitioners at the architects forum, Jayaprakash Radhakrishnan, Stanley’s Pre-Sales Marketing Manager, Middle East and Africa, assured that the company was determined to contribute to the ever growing construction industry in Nigeria using its assorted quality products.

Stanley Security, founded in 1843, has a formidable pedigree and has been listed on the New York Stock Exchange since 1966. The company is noted for its pioneering capability and innovation which is noticeable in its recognition as a producer of best-in-class products.

Radhakrishnan disclosed that the company was the first to produce the first automated door in the whole world, adding that, as a result of the outstanding quality of their products, the company has been an exclusive vendor of the US government and army, and of many other high profile projects globally.

According to him, Stanley has, over the years, developed various custom-fit products for institutions across the financial, educational, healthcare and transportation sectors, hoping that builders in Nigeria would have a dependable ally in their products just as builders all over the world could testify.

“I looked at Stanley and found out that they offer good solution and then I decided that I would work with them in offering solutions in the Nigerian security system which is a growing market; everybody here is conscious of personal security and that of their business”, Asnani noted, recommending the company’s products for both residential and commercial properties

Radhakrishnan assured that, though their products were targeted at the middle class, they were relatively affordable as their prices were within the Low Price Points plus (LPP+) category.
