Kano govt awards N1bn housing contract for varsity

The Kano State government on Tuesday awarded a N1 billion contract for the construction of staff members’ quarters at the North West University.

Similarly, the state government approved conversion of Magwan Water Restaurant to the ‘First Lady College’ and construction of culverts in some local government areas.

The state commissioner for works, housing and transport, Abba Kabir, said this at the signing of the contract in Kano.

Kabir said the projects were part of Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso’s efforts to provide basic social infrastructure to better the lives of the citizens.

He urged the contractors to ensure quality and speedy completion of the projects in order to meet the deadline.
