UPDC seeks partnership with Amuwo Odofin LGA on infrastructure devt
Apparently in a bid to enhance the value of its investment and the quality of the environment, UAC Property Development Company (UPDC) Plc is seeking partnership with Amuwo Odofin Local Government of Lagos State on infrastructure development to bring more development to the community.
UPDC, Nigeria’s leading light in real estate development, is currently building a retail centre known as Festival Mall in Festac Town which is the administrative headquarters of Amuwo Odofin LGA. The mall which is estimated to cost N5 billion will be sitting on 3.2 hectares of land with a promise to deliver over 10,000 lettable spaces. It is to be built within the precinct of Golden Tulip Hotel also owned by UPDC.
The company’s management team led by its General Manager, Procurement and Supplies, Charles Enahonna, was on a visit to the local government and inspected completed and on-going facilities with a view to upgrading some of them.
Thereafter, Enahonna announced that “as part of our corporate social responsibility (SCR), we are here to inspect some projects and see how we can support the government in bringing more infrastructural development to this community”.
He explained that, “the idea is borne out of our conviction that the local council administration has done well and needs the support of everyone to actualize its goals of bringing the dividends of democracy to the doorstep of the governed”.
During an earlier visit led by Hakeem Oguniran, UPDC’s MD/CEO, the local government had assured the company of the security of its Festival Mall, promising them of a ready market for their investment. “We are very responsible people in this community; our environment is investment-friendly and we are assuring you of adequate security for your investment”, Ayodele Adewale, the chairman of the local government told Oguniran and his team.
Ogunniran noted that Festac Town and its environs were ripe for a befitting shopping mall, adding that they were also in the council to discuss ways of collaborating with them in discharging the organization’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
